Derek Mackenzie

Derek joined us as Executive Director in 2017 to lead our Business Change, Technology and Strategy divisions. He has 25 years’ experience in the technology and change recruitment sector, working his way from a Consultant, specialising in senior IT appointments, through to Manager, Managing Director and in July 2023, CEO of Investigo. Derek has delivered a variety of retained and managed service solutions for both SME and blue chip clients. Having successfully built our brand in the technology sector and grown our business change and strategy businesses, he’s now overseeing our growth as a company. At the start of 2023 he launched Campaign, the UK’s first LGBTQ+ business network for the recruitment industry.

Nick became CEO of The IN Group in July 2023. He joined Investigo in 2006 to head up our Change and Transformation division and became CEO in October 2017. He was part of the SMT that led an MBO in December 2013 and the successful majority sale to Career International in July 2018. Nick built his experience at Hydrogen Group before joining Investigo. As CEO Nick is responsible for the growth, vision and strategy of the business with particular emphasis on maintaining the unique culture that has helped make us successful, people attraction and the development of client relationships.

Gary has worked for four companies in his career to date. After graduating in Law and deciding against a career as a lawyer, he trained (unsuccessfully!) as a Chartered Accountant before moving into recruitment in 1984 with Accountancy Personnel (now Hays plc). Later that year he joined Michael Page as a consultant and worked his way up to Regional Managing Director responsible for a number of specialist businesses employing some 400 fee-earners. He is passionate about the industry and believes in providing an environment which allows individuals to play to their strengths and to progress on merit in order to reach their full potential. He joined Investigo as CEO in July 2010 and led an MBO backed by Investec in December 2013. His vision is for Investigo to become synonymous with the sourcing of both permanent and interim talent in the professional services arena and to become a leader in each of its chosen fields. He became Chairman in May 2018.

Haresh joined Investigo in 2011 as Finance Director. He qualified as an accountant (FCCA) in 1995 and has trained with various audit firms including Ernst & Young. He left Audit practice in 2004 to join MPS Group International PLC. Here he held a number of high profile positions working closely with senior management teams across the various recruitment businesses within the Group. Following the acquisition of MPS by Adecco, he left his role as Head of Finance for Badenoch & Clark (an Adecco Group company) and subsequently joined Investigo.

​Rachael is our group CMO, heading up the multi-disciplined marketing team for Investigo as well as the other brands within The IN Group.  She has over 20 years of marketing experience, working across a range of organisations from Microsoft to Virgin Atlantic Group, leading brands through takeovers, launches, rebrands, and high-growth periods.  Despite supporting AFC Wimbledon, Rachael is a keen football fan but has been unable to convert her two sons, Dylan and Oscar who stubbornly insist on supporting Tottenham.
