Investigo’s Property team had the pleasure to host another successful event for the women who work in Property and Facilities Management on the evening of 24th June at the HM Treasury, London.
The event was organised in collaboration with Norma Bresciani of Servest and aimed to offer female Property and Facilities Management professionals a great opportunity to meet with colleagues, establish new contacts and, above all, enjoy a great evening out.
The theme of the evening was ‘Maximising your Potential in the Workplace: should we adapt to our surroundings, or should our surroundings adapt to us?’ and we are proud to say it was attended by over 70 guests who, along with the speakers, made the event a complete success.
They all enjoyed tasting delicious canapés and sipping fine wines but most importantly, they had the chance to listen to some very insightful speeches delivered by Thomas Power – Co-founder of Ecademy, Nicky Coffin - Leadership and Management Trainer and Performance Coach at Centred Excellence and Kirsten Bradbury – Managing Director CBRE.
Thomas Power delivered a very interesting speech about Social Media, the changes that constantly occur in this industry and the importance of staying up to date and following all competitors. He talked about how Social Media influences people’s behaviours and their language, gave us some very good tips on how to look good online and emphasised the importance of building a personal brand alongside a corporate one.
Nicky Coffin talked about her background and why she decided to start helping people to get significant shifts in their personal and team’s results. Rugby has always been one of her biggest passions and, although she had to overcome several obstacles, she eventually fulfilled her dream and played rugby for England earning 22 caps for her country. She managed to do that by adopting a winning mentality, defining her goals, winning people’s hearts and minds, putting herself into other people’s shoes and choosing how to react to what was happening to her. She is now a successful performance coach, businesswoman and Managing Director at Centred Excellence. Nicky is also still very much involved in rugby as a Non-Executive Director on the board of the RFUW.
Kirsten Bradbury became MD of CBRE’s FM in just a few years after she joined the business and she now leads a team of over 1000 people, including 500 engineers. She talked about the benefits of diversity in business and disclosed that the secret to her success laid in trusting her instincts and having confidence in her beliefs.
We received great feedback from our guests and we would like to thank everyone who attended for making it such an entertaining evening and for donating to the raffle we organised in aid of our chosen charity, The Gate. We managed to raise £354 in just a couple of hours!
The Gate works from an ethos of compassion, care and respect and offers compassionate and confidential advice and support to those with unplanned pregnancies, miscarriages or post abortion concerns.
We would also like to give special thanks to Bellrock and their suppliers for allowing us to use the beautiful Churchill room and for being amazing hosts.
Investigo’s property team is planning to organise similar networking events in the near future so please get in touch with Stuart Bonner at email@example.com if you would be interested in attending.
