Investigo’s property team hosted a fantastic networking event for women in property and facilities management at the BBC broadcasting house on Thursday 12th June. The evening was sponsored by Servest who delivered an array of delicious canapés alongside champagne and featured guest speakers Carolyn Pearson from Maiden Voyage and Alex Smith from Harrisons Fund as well as a raffle consisting of some great prizes.

The evening aimed to bring together female property and facilities management professionals to network and socialise as well as encouraging the next generation of talent in the industry to learn how to effectively network.

Maiden Voyage is a networking site that aims to connect business women travelling to the same destination to meet up and socialise instead of spending a business trip alone. It also provides travel and safety information and has 35 ‘Female Friendly Hotels’ registered that women can stay in and know that it is safe. Carolyn Pearson gave us a great insight into her company and the growth she experienced as she started up and how far Maiden Voyage has come – from CNN interviews to travelling to luxurious hotels over the world!

Alex Smith, Harrisons Dad and founder of Harrison’s Fund, delivered a heart warming speech detailing the devastating impact on their lives of having their eldest son diagnosed with Duchenne, and what donations will be doing to help Harrison and other children around the world to lead the lives of strong young men. Harrison’s Fund aims to provide as much money as possible for researchers who are working hard to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Around 70 female property and facilities management professionals joined us including surveyors, developers, occupiers, hotel owners, landlords, project managers and more.

Stuart Bonner, Director of Property and host of the night said, ‘the evening was a great success and we had such a great turn out. Thank you to everyone who attended and to our guest speakers, and all those who donated towards Harrison’s Fund. We look forward to seeing you all at our next event!’

Congratulations to the raffle winners and we hope you all enjoyed the evening.
