A study, recently published by the Telegraph, by the Office for National statistics has found that the total number of women with dependent children in the workplace has leapt by almost a fifth since the mid 1990s. This is great news for commerce as studies repeatedly show that having senior female executives on the board has a direct correlation with success and profitable business.

Women have previously been held off the top spots, despite being successful in their early careers, and breaking down the psychological barriers that being a mother restricts a woman’s ability, efficiency and focus on her career is an exciting step in the right direction. As a result, many more companies will feel the numerous benefits of a more balanced board room in the future.
