Staying true to our vision - Introducing The Investigo Property business

We’ve just closed financial year 3 since the Property recruitment business was launched to further expand on the market offerings provided by Investigo. Having set the business up in June 2010 with two people and a backdrop of continued economic uncertainty it is a delight to report that the business goes into the 2013/2014 financial year with a team of 12 consultants across the London and Hong Kong offices.

 

And what a year 3 it has been with revenue growth of circa 70%, having invested in 4 new markets including General Practice, Interim Management, Public sector and of course Investigo’s first international office opening in Hong Kong being driven by a Property recruitment business, run by Chris Urban.

 

Speaking with Stuart Bonner, Director of the Property business in London, he explains the key reasons for this success

 

“Analysing the business at the end of year 3 made me look back and review the original proposal that I brought to Simon Smith and Scott Beckson, the Investigo co-founders. It had a vision of working with less candidates, candidates that have come to us via recommendations, referrals or found through proactive networking, finding the talent not active on the market but keen to engage with a recruitment business that will partner with them and support their longer term career aspirations.

We have stayed true to this principal and, as a result, we have been able to provide our clients not only with a much stronger, often exclusive, candidate solution to their vacancies, we have also been able to engage in talent pipelining, providing a proactive recruitment solution where lead times between contract wins and go live are becoming more constrained and conventional recruitment methodologies become rushed and often do not come up with the right quality. Clients are working with us to find talent that are not in a rush to move jobs but will still be happy to entertain a role with a client sometimes 6 – 12 months after initial introductions because the right opportunity has now arisen. But having gone through a recruitment process already, concluding the hire is slick and efficient.

 

In order for us to be able to provide this service, we have had to be able to hire the right people, domain experts in their field with an exemplary track record in their markets that enables them to find these candidates. To be able differentiate ourselves, it is not just a lack of reliance on the conventional “active candidate on a database” it is also being able to find candidates that are not on Linkedin and it is only by being a true expert in your chosen area that we are able to find these people.

The Investigo business has fully backed this proposition and allowed me to hire some of the most recognised names in their chosen areas of Property recruitment, in some cases with 10 years plus experience and this is why we have grown so successfully over the last three years. Having bedded in these new market streams, Year 4 should be very exciting indeed!”
