Assistant Accountant

Based in Cheshunt

Salary up to £35,000

Working as part of a division of this wider group, you will be working closely with a Finance Manager who will help you progress and develop your finance skills. If you are currently in an all round role but want to take the next step in your finance career this role would be suited.

You will get involved in 3 key areas of finance - FP&A, financial reporting and project work. It will certainly keep you busy and challenged. Ideally you will be studying ACCA and the company are willing to provide full study support for you.

Key Duties

Month & Year End Activities

• Preparation of journal postings as required
• Reconciliation of sales and expense accounts
• Review and analysis of budgets against actuals
• Review and analysis of monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
• Assist with year-end statutory audit

Other regular activities

• Weekly cashflow forecasting and monitoring of cash requirements
• Debtor management
• Preparation of weekly flash P&L report
• Proactively monitor performance against finance KPIs and report against these requirements
• Prepare updates, analysis and insight for regular board and executive meetings
• Quarterly cashflow reporting and budget reforecasts
• Regulatory reporting including VAT returns, corporation tax and statutory accounts
• Ad-hoc activities and contribution towards continuous improvement initiatives and other projects
