Business Analyst - London Markets Insurance - Guildford - 550 per day


My client a leading Insurer are currently looking for a Business Analyst to join them on an integration programme based in their Guildford office. You will be engaged on business change workstreams to include requirements gathering, process definition (including workarounds), data analysis, solutions definition, change control impact assessment and representing the business workstreams in regular governance meetings as required. The role will liaise closely with colleagues in the technology team to ensure that a coherent business and IT solution is delivered. This role will also support the Transition/Cutover activity during the run up and execution of the post-acquisition business migration.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Perform business analysis in order to evaluate and propose options for future processes
  • Meet with end user stakeholders and specialists to develop and refine project requirements and support the requirements management process
  • Proactive communication and collaboration with internal and external customers to analyse functional requirements and deliver supporting artefacts which may include specifications, change requests, business requirements documents and mock-ups
  • Define future state processes related to the process transition and manual workarounds for the three significant business workstreams consisting of (i) Claims Management, (ii) Finance and (iii) Reinsurance
  • Work closely with external software vendors and internal IT teams to define solutions to support the transitioning business processes, serving as the conduit between business customers and software development teams, whether internal, outsourced or software partners
  • Support acceptance testing and conduct training/awareness sessions with business operations teams (as required)
  • Support data analysis and reconciliation activity across the programme to allow senior leadership to authorise business cut over
  • Co-ordinate with business leads to ensure that workstream inter-dependencies are understood clearly
  • Ensure that workstream Risks, Issues, Assumptions, Actions and Dependencies are surfaced to project management
  • Assist in the development of detailed workstream plans, critical path documentation and dependency logs as required
  • Manage changes to the workstream scope, schedule and costs using appropriate techniques
  • Create and maintain comprehensive workstream documentation, which will be subject to internal audit review
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps as required to support communication
  • Supporting the Programme Director and IT/Business project leads in the delivery of an overall solution
  • In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require

Required Experience:

  • 5yrs+ Experience of working on major programmes with complex stakeholder environments, as a Business Analyst. Previous experience in Insurance and London Markets Insurance specially is essential
  • Demonstrable skills in methods for business process mapping and business requirements gathering
  • Previous experience in data rich acquisition projects
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels, combined with the ability to work under pressure. Flexible approach - we are a global operation
  • Ability to work across multiple assignments and prioritise workload accordingly
  • Experience of developing strong working relationships with workstream leads, to allow them to focus on the required delivery outcomes by providing business analysis support/rigour
  • Have excellent analytical and numerical skills - confident with statistics and their presentation
