Business Analyst - IT/Digital - GDS Service Standards - Data Discovery.

Business Analyst - Digital - GDS Service Standards - Data Discovery. Working on two linked workstreams. Only BPSS/DBS clearance required - Start Monday 25th November (with some flex for a later start).

  1. Data Discovery:

Reviewing the current landscape of data and information across the lifecycle of an existing service. It will also consider what the user pain points and opportunities around data collections and data within the system both for external and internal users.

To achieve this the workstream includes:

  • Reviewing the paths that applicants take to navigate a complex journey;
  • Develop an understanding of what information is being exchanged between providers and government;
  • Highlight the implications of those exchanges on user experience;
  • Support the develop or concept test of potential technical solutions.

  1. Database system fix and replace:

Reviewing the current service and working with the team develop recommendations for short, medium and long term options to enable business critical data service collections and management of the service to be met effectively and efficiently. This will ensure new and improved user needs (providers/ trainees and internal users) are prioritized using an agile development methodology (as mandated by Government Digital Service standards).

The work streams include:

  • A review of business processes
  • Service design elements for users and data flows
  • Potential technical solutions
  • Impact on timelines
  • Impact on current relationship with supply chain and any changes required.

Outcomes: deliver analysis that enables the team to present key performance data, to ensure the service meets the performance requirements set out in the Government Digital Service's Service Standard, to understand user needs by providing quantitative and qualitative evidence from service analytics, to keep the Business Case and service objectives up to date on a quarterly basis, to map risks and propose solutions.
