Client-side, Capital Project & Programme Manager

Brief

A globally recognised travel operator is looking to transform its estate as part of a new engagement strategy. As a result, they need an expert in Project & Programme Management to outline and deliver the total transformation and construction of their corporate real estate.

Outline

Our client is expanding its Property Workplace Strategy function as part of a total workplace overhaul programme. This role will be focused on delivering changes to their work environment looking at how they work and the tools they use. This programme links together Property, Facilities, IT and HR and is led by the Programme Director, within the Facilities team. This role will also work closely with the internal PMO to provide regular progress updates to the board and follow the project management framework.

The goal is to transform the environment and ways of working that will suit the current and future requirements of our employees, make working easy and enjoyable and supporting to continue to ascertain and retain the highest calibre talent.

Core Accountabilities

  • Lead on and maintain all project schedules and documentation, including weekly/monthly reporting, presentation and action log
  • Focus on the benefits and outcomes of change initiatives and projects, to agreed time, cost and quality metrics
  • Works to achieve appropriate project business sponsorship, stakeholder support and engagement, alignment on outcomes
  • Drives alignment and performance to ensure deliverables are supported by embedded organisational & process changes and enabling technology
  • Agrees deliverables aligned with strategic aims and objectives
  • Responsible for delivery of agreed business change initiatives, projects or work streams, ensuring appropriate governance is in place, including support for failing initiatives
  • Ensures project or work stream level controls and reporting is in place
  • Supports the management of work stream, project and other dependencies
  • Act as a point of reference for practices in change delivery and supports continuous improvement in business transformation
  • Identifies learnings and root causes, and supports their use to drive efficient delivery of future initiatives

Experience Required

  • A strong background in Project/Change Management with experience in office refurb and workplace strategy projects
  • Knowledge of both waterfall and agile methodologies is preferred
  • Demonstrable capability of delivering cross-functional projects and work streams
  • Has successfully delivered project to cost, time and quality ensuring full benefit realisation
  • Experience of implementing change projects which align both the 'hard' and 'soft' elements of the organisation e.g. strategy, processes, systems, structure, values, behaviour, skills, engagement and communication
  • Ability to lead and successfully engage up to and including board level
  • Financial understanding and appreciation (budgeting, reporting, interpretation)
  • Recognises limitations and requests support to resolve issues that go beyond current capability
