I am recruiting for an absolutely fantastic role as a Finance analyst working for a FTSE 100 retail firm. You will need to be a professionally Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA), or studying towards qualification. My client requires someone articulate, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and a strong commercial acumen.

The role works within the Retail Costs Finance team and is responsible for supporting both Retail Controllable Costs and Contact Centres. This role is responsible for creating the assets required to effectively business partner, focussing on value creation and collectively strengthening their performance. You will provide insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders, aiming to influence and drive decisions and actions that improve the bottom line. You will support the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Managers in their business area and the wider Finance team as required.

The role:

• Run and interpret corporate management reporting to provide timely insight, analysis and commentary to stakeholders across the group
• Identify risks, anomalies and opportunities and flag these to Finance Manager / Senior Finance Managers for prioritisation
• Build an understanding of an external perspective and use to engage Finance colleagues
• Complete ad hoc / bespoke analysis for the business area as required to drive improvements
• Work with internal teams, such as the data team, as required to complete analysis to resolve business problems
• Work with Retail Reporting and Change team to develop uniformity of reporting and performance evaluation across all Retail channels enabling your business partners to quickly establish their areas of focus through the Channel, Cost line and Geographic lenses
• In line with timeline and process set by FP&A, work with business to manage RCC and Contact Centres Forecasting, Latest View, Budgeting and Q2F
• Build business cases and support post implementation reviews
• Support the business to manage project budgets, working with other Finance teams where collaborative projects demand this
• Support the wider team on other Finance processes and budgets as required
• Attend business review meetings supporting our Stakeholders as needed
• Success in this role will mean supporting the business in making decisions that enhance performance to drive incremental income for the business, improve ROI performance and manage the cost lines effectively

Candidate specification:

• Professionally Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA), or studying towards qualification
• Strong Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into analysis and insight and being able to clearly articulate this through your communication
• Strong commercial acumen
• To have a good track record of strong financial control, but also the ability to maintain such an environment
• Effective communicator with all levels of stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen
• Self-motivated team player, able to work autonomously, prioritise with good problem-solving abilities
• Must have a strong eye for detail and accuracy
