I am currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join a collaborative, growing FMCG firm in East London. I am looking to speak to candidates with a min of 1 years experience as a Credit Controller, someone who has excellent interpersonal skills and can work off their own initiative. The main purpose of this role is recover monies, relating to the Sales Ledger (specifically the trade debtors) but others as required. You will be working alongside another Credit Controller and reporting into the Head of Finance. If you have experience with NetSuite this is a great advantage!

Responsibilities will include:

Proactively managing and collecting debts from company debtors - ensuring timely payments from customers within the agreed credit terms
Chasing outstanding balances by phone, email and letter
Negotiating and monitoring payment plans and escalating accordingly
Raising manual invoices/ credit notes as required
Uploading invoices/credit notes to the Supplier Portals and finance provider systems
Processing payments and reconciling invoices
Preparing statements, client status reports and other relevant information as required
Checking and allocating payment receipts on the sales ledger
Resolve customer queries/disputes in a timely manner
Liaising internally with the sales/procurement teams to help maintain customer service
Maintaining, amending and reviewing pricing
Liaising with external agencies - such as debt collection company and factoring company - as appropriate
Other ad-hoc task as required from time to time

Candidate Specification:

Significant practical experience in credit control
Previous accounting experience in a busy and progressive business within an FMCG environment
Extensive experience of computerised accounting systems, preferably SAGE 200 and Oracle NetSuite, including report writing
Intermediate Excel skills (Advanced formula, VLOOKUP's, Pivot Tables, IFs)
Ability to manage own time, developing work plans and targets to support company and team objectives and strategic growth
Ability to establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with a range of parties
Ability to manage, process, and analyse information gathered from multiple sources and present in varying levels of complexity and in varying formats
High standard of written and verbal English
Ability and confidence to act as a change agent - the ability to engage, influence and build/secure commitment to solutions
Excellent customer service skills, with experience of responding effectively to phone, email and mail enquiries
Team Working and Relationship Building
Ability to work individually and as part of a team, and to form cooperative and professional working relationships with others in a busy office environment

Ability to analyse and solve problems with an awareness of the implications
