Job description

Investigo are seeking a Deputy Group FC for a business based in Hertfordshire. The role reports to the Group Financial Controller and is responsible for the financial reporting team of 3. Together with the Group FC, you will be responsible for all financial accounting for the Group.

Key duties:

  • Support the Group FC in the leadership and management of all Group financial activities, with responsibility for technical accounting, risk and tax.
  • Work closely with the Group's FP&A manager to ensure there is a robust framework in place to support reporting requirements.
  • Lead the process of monthly reporting in the consolidation system including review of financial information submitted and work with the FP&A manager to ensure accurate monthly management accounts are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Ensure technical compliance with all relevant accounting and reporting standards, review of accounting policies and effective group reporting. This includes working with divisional and site FDs to ensure compliance with technical accounting in all areas across the group.
  • Deliver the expansion of and improvements to the Group consolidation reporting system which has recently been upgraded, to deliver timely collation of information and better quality of information being reported, including KPIs, accounting ratios, product profitability.
  • Lead and deliver the half year and year end reporting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting output in accordance with IFRS in line with the Group's reporting timelines.
  • Management of the Group's half year and year-end audit process to ensure a smooth and timely conclusion with no material disagreements on policy or accounting adjustments.
  • Co-ordinate the process of the preparation and review of statutory accounts for all entities across the Group, ensuring a smooth audit process and timely approval and signing of all statutory accounts.
  • Take responsibility for the overall risk management reporting for the Group.

To apply you will meet the following criteria:

  • High calibre qualified accountant with at least 5 years PQE, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
  • Significant risk management/internal audit knowledge with experience in reporting to Board and Audit Committees.
  • Experience of reviewing, developing and performing controls testing plans.
  • Excellent technical accounting expertise and knowledge of IFRS and the tax requirements of a listed group.
  • Practical knowledge and experience of Group/consolidation reporting processes.
