TITLE:

Director, Vector Biology/Early Process Development

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct the design, development, scale-up, and technology transfer of gene therapy manufacturing from early feasibility and definition through transition to technical operations colleagues.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and support of production processes, control methods and equipment to achieve stage appropriate production of preclinical test article, early stage clinical trial material.
• Serve as liaison with PD group for establishment of workflow, technical diligence lead for potential business development opportunities involving novel capsids, and as an SME and research team member representing early phase CMC development for partner programs.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

• D. required in Genetics, Biology, or related field with 10+ years of direct leadership experience in AAV gene therapy biology, CMC development and manufacturing, bioprocess development or related areas.
• Well versed in current and future cell culture technologies, upstream/downstream considerations, working knowledge in molecular biology aspects and analytical aspects is necessary for success in this role.
• Must possess technical troubleshooting and demonstrated CMO/CRO management experience in bioprocess setting, demonstrated leadership skills, people management skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, initiative and follow up skills, experience with leading cross functional teams are all necessary for the role.
