File Services BA/Coordinator - UK (London)
The File Services Business Analyst/Coordinator will be responsible for supporting key regulatory framework discovery and implementation projects. The role holder will be the file services team's main interface to the project team(s) and business stakeholders. The role holds primary responsibilities for the for the evaluation and operationalisation of data analysis and management information tools from a file services - business perspective. The role will also support data extraction and analysis, with a view to implementing changes in data structures and permissions as a result.


They must have strong business/technical relationship management/coordination skills. They will be able to technically translate business requirements and represent data in a manner which allows business management decision making. The candidate will exhibit a core understanding of Windows and other Network File Systems.


Responsibilities include the following:

  • Represent IT Infrastructure teams in compliance programmes, such as GDPR
  • Analyse, coordinate and deliver project activities within the files services team
  • Maintain strong relationships and coordinate with business stakeholders and other project disciplines e.g. information security teams
  • Evaluate products and their capabilities from:
    • A functionality perspective in respect to benefits/suitability of the services provided by the tool
    • A user perspective relating to the usability and ability to provide required management information
  • Extract and present data, using data extraction and analysis tools such as Varonis
  • Provide high level analysis of that data (for example; data type, sizes, volumes, retention policies)
  • Understand technical/business requirements gathered from the business units
  • Support/recommend future file share structure setup to help define data retention policies
  • Coordinate new file share setup whilst working closely with business teams

Technical

  • Strong knowledge of a data extraction and analysis tools, such as Varonis
  • Good expertise in DFS/DFSR.
  • Good knowledge of SBM shares and NTFS share permission.
  • Good knowledge of AD groups/scripts.
  • Microsoft Windows Server implementation, troubleshooting and support (2008, 2012, and 2016)
  • General Block and NAS storage understanding
  • Advanced experience with Robocopy and other data copy and comparison tools


Education

  • Bachelor's degree, or master's degree beneficial
  • ITIL foundations certificate or equivalent practical experience
