I am currently working with a large group in Stevenage who are looking for an ambitious finance assistant to join their finance team. The role will be working closely with the Group Management Accountant and the Finance Manager to oversee the start to finish Accounts Payable function, and get involved in month end Accruals, Prepayments, and fixed assets. Key responsibilities are listed below:

  • Posting invoices to Sage Intacct, ensuring they are correctly coded to the correct nominal codes and cost centres
  • Ensuring all invoices are processed and authorised in line with agreed contracts
  • Creating payment runs for authorisation and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Resolving queries with invoices and suppliers
  • Ownership of the accounts inbox
  • Posting invoices to the Fixed Asset Register
  • Maintaining accuracy of the Fixed Asset Register by reconciling to the Trial Balance
  • Ensuring depreciation is correctly calculated
  • Posting of depreciation journals
  • Responsibility for updating and maintaining the accruals and prepayments schedules
  • Posting accruals and prepayments journals
  • Reconciling accruals and prepayments schedules to the Trial Balance
  • Support Accounts Payable automation project.
  • Receive and place orders from Operational teams (SARCS and Custody) in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ordering stationery for head office ensuring a stock of paper and other stationery is kept within acceptable limits.
  • Ensuring that spend on company credit cards is controlled.
  • Ensuring receipts are received in a timely manner from the Operational teams
  • Reconciling the company credit cards
  • Posting of the company credit card journals
