A London Market insurer has a requirement for a Business Analyst with Finance experience to join their London based team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the PM and Finance Leads in determining priorities for initiatives in the Finance function, including areas requiring further detailed analysis.
  • Identify the pain points in current reporting processes and areas requiring investment and improvement.
  • Investigate and resolve Finance system or process issues which may frequently be time-critical in relation to reporting deadlines.
  • Proactively analyse and develop common and consistent processes which will benefit Group reporting and financial management and oversight.
  • Capture requirements for specific systems enhancements and/or replacements.
  • Documentation of As Is and To Be processes where required.
  • Produce detailed Business Impact Assessments for key initiatives.
  • Assist Finance teams with specific projects including progression of the Target Operating Model
  • Co-ordinate with other functions in delivering process and system improvements, particularly IT.
  • Assist in the development, testing and reporting of the new systems and processes.
  • Assist the PM in monitoring progress and identifying project issues and risks, and tracking progress against the project plan.
  • Providing regular progress status reports to the Project Governance Committees.


Key Skills and Experience:

  • Graduate (preferred) with a recognised professional qualifications which may include one or more of (a) BCS, APM / BPM (b) ACA, ACCA, CIMA; (c) Prince 2PMP, Lean Six Sigma.
  • Lloyd's Market and general insurance experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of general insurance operations and risk and control process management commensurate with the role is desirable.
  • Analytical, investigative approach with ability to work systematically and unsupervised, to tight deadlines and with multiple competing priorities.
  • Pragmatic problem-solver with commercial awareness and a flexible, collaborative approach.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to assimilate, manage and communicate salient details relating to large volumes of information, including technical issues and data.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Report-writing experience with a high standard of English to Board level is a pre-requisite.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (particularly Visio, Excel, PowerPoint Word and SharePoint.
