Investigo are seeking a Financial Controls Manager for a large, growing business based in Hertfordshire this a hands-on senior role and an excellent opportunity for a driven finance professional with plenty of scope to add value, implement policies and procedures reporting to the Group Financial Controller. You will be a Senior Qualified Accountant, who is able to demonstrate strong management and leadership skills and have proven experience working with exposure to the senior management. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic and commercial environment, with responsibility to ensure governance & compliance is adhered to.

The candidate would be required to be responsible and accountable in the management of Fixed Assets, the Group Consolidation team and the balance sheet reporting and controls team. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring the delivery of the balance sheet controls report, delivering against the controls framework roadmap, liaising with the Group's auditors and leading the Group's impairment review. The candidate will also be responsible with the assistance with ad hoc financial reporting matters.

The candidate would also be required to support the Finance Department in ad hoc financial reporting matters, projects, process improvements, management reporting and other finance related projects driven by the growth of the business.

Key Duties:

  • Responsible for the production and monitoring of the Group's Balance sheet
  • Responsible for the production and presentation of the Quarterly Balance sheet review
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Group's Control Framework is implemented and process improvements driven
  • Implement and produce monthly control pack updates as part of the month end process
  • Oversee the Group's Fixed Asset team, ensuring reporting and MI is available to enable decision making
  • Lead the Group's impairment review with the commercial teams
  • Support the Depreciation budget process and business partner with commercial teams to ensure adequate information is provided
  • Work closely with the commercial teams to ensure that strong controls and reporting on capitalisation of intangible assets and the judgements involved
  • Managing the performance and development of direct reports and their teams
  • Responsible for the Group's intercompany relationships and ensure all are substantiated
  • Responsible for the Group's consolidation team and ensuring improvement processes are driven
  • Responsible for ensuring that international subsidiaries with the Solutions business are set up, while working closely with the commercial, legal and tax teams
  • Work closely with the tax team to ensure that efficient intercompany settlements are done on a periodic basis
  • Supporting the Group Finance team in month end, budget, audit or business as usual processes where required
  • Reviewing and approval of expenses and payments through bank
  • Lead ad hoc initiatives such as implementing better financial controls

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Qualified ACA with 10+ years PQE
  • Strong academics; minimum 2,1 at degree level;
  • Up to date technical knowledge of IFRS and experience of preparing/auditing financial statements under IFRS
  • PLC Experience Essential and/or Seasoned Financial Controller
  • Experience in developing mid-sized finance teams

Desirable:

  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
  • Competent Microsoft Word user
  • Experience of ERP systems (e.g. Oracle Financials r12)
  • Experience using Hyperion (Planning and Budgeting)
  • Experience and/or Exposure in Tax
