Job description

Investigo are currently partnered with a global construction business who are looking to hire a finance manager for their growing London based finance team.

In this role you will be working within the Corporate Finance team, reporting into Financial Controller. As a Finance Manager you will take full ownership for delivering timely and high-quality month-end management accounts for all EU entities while ensuring that all financial controls, policies and procedures are adhered to. This person will have excellent organisational skills and have a great track record of managing and adhering to tight deadlines. This role will suit an individual who is highly motivated and driven to achieve challenging objectives with a methodical and organised approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands on month end accounting close, general ledger journals and consolidation of management accounts
  • Full ownership of preparation of management accounts for a number of European subsidiaries, including balance sheet and profit and loss
  • Manage and develop two direct reports, including OKR setting, performance measurement, appraisals and training
  • Ownership of timely preparation of the balance sheet reconciliations and review of the teams reconciliations
  • Oversight of the Accounts Payable Function
  • Ensure payment upload and submission accuracy across multiple banking applications
  • Management of the credit card system and card holders
  • Providing recommendations for improving existing processes with a view to improve internal control framework
  • Assisting with system implementations and migrations
  • Assisting with statutory accounts and audit processes
  • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
  • Assist in other ad-hoc analysis and duties

Experience & Skills

  • Qualified accountant with substantial number of years accounting experience
  • Extensive experience in leading the month-end close
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with accounting reconciliations
  • Inquisitive, solution oriented, proactive, able to demonstrate experience in system implementations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
  • People management experience
  • Strong Excel skills specifically pivot tables, lookups and IF/SUMIF formulas
  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business demand
  • Personable approach but resilient when required
  • Team player who shows initiative; always looking for ways to improve efficiency
  • Able to demonstrate ownership and personal responsibility
  • Experience of working in Account team within a fast-paced multi-site business
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV
