Finance Manager

Finance Manager - Trading Firm - City of London - up to £70,000

A high-growth, private equity backed Financial Services business is currently looking for a qualified accountant to manage their Finance team.

The Company:

The business are a leading consumer trading platform, with significant financial backing having recently gone through a merger which will open doors to stockbroking, crypto and more alongside their core FX business.

Having seen headcount almost double over the last 1-2 years, there is significant opportunity for career growth with this role identified as one which will have succession planning to Financial Controller in the future.

Slick, City based offices with a hybrid working model, you'll be expected to be in one or two days a week, with the business operating a hot desk policy due to the huge headcount growth over recent years.

The Role:

Managing a team of three part-qualified accountants, you'll have a blend of leadership and hands-on accounting responsibility.

• Manage monthly management accounts process, producing monthly packs and responsible for client money
• Oversee the Accounts Payable function
• Support on budgeting and forecasting process and work closely with Head of FP&A
• Control the month end journal posting process (prepayments, accruals, balance sheet recsetc)
• Prepare monthly and quarterly regulatory returns
• Key point of contact on year-end statutory and client money audits.

As the business grows, the expectation is that this person will have the opportunity to grow with it. Following recent acquisitions and funding, the Finance team is expected to grow and this hire will be central to that.

You'll also have a responsibility for developing your team, making sure that when the opportunity comes for you to step into a bigger role, there is someone who can take over from you. This Finance team is all about having opportunities for people when they are ready.

Profile:

- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). You can be trained in either industry or accounting practice, but key is exposure to financial services. Understanding of accounting within a regulated environment and the challenges / intricacies of an FS business.

- Degree in a related subject such as Maths / Economics / Accounting / Finance etc would be advantageous as well as a strong academic record.

- Track record of delivering improvements and efficiencies within a Finance function, being innovative and identifying areas for improvement.
