Job description

Investigo are recruiting for a Financial Controller to work with a London based Real Estate business, in a 6-month interim assignment. This is an opportunity to have a real impact in a growing business that operates a flexible working approach.

The day rate stretches from £450-£550, commensurate with experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage internal and external reporting to ensure consistency, accuracy and timeliness of financial and non-financial reporting to achieve regulatory and business outcomes
  • Ownership of the relationship with Finance Services as it pertains to the performance of relevant services to the business unit
  • Ownership of preparation and management of the business plans including setting business KPIs, monthly and quarterly review process and reporting and driving business accountability to achieve outcomes
  • Advisory role in analysing strategic transaction and impact on the financial returns and accounting of the projects and portfolio
  • Implement and manage robust financial controls to ensure integrity of all financial systems, processes and outputs
  • Work with and coordinate the project-based finance teams to simplify internal reporting frameworks both within the region and at a Group level and contribute to the design and development of analysis-based management reporting systems, ensuring continuous improvements from a business intelligence perspective
  • Manage ongoing analysis of revenue forecasts, cost structures and overhead base and challenge robustness of forecasts for Central Functions. Identify and drive areas of savings and potential revenue sources for the business
  • Oversee the co-ordination of all regional reporting to the Group including management, statutory and business planning
  • Create strong morale and team spirit by providing meaningful work clearly connected to organisational strategy. Share both responsibility and accountability where appropriate

Role requirements

  • Qualified Accountant CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA with 5 years' + PQE experience of managing a finance function in a substantial business, preferably operating in a Construction or Real Estate environment
  • Demonstrable staff management experience, ability to lead from the front, develop and grow a successful team
  • Excellent communicator with strong written, presentation and interpersonal skills, candidate must have an ability to win the respect and trust of colleagues and customers
  • Highly organised with an excellent ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
  • Highly conscientious and self-motivated with a flexible approach to demands of the role
  • Strong technical ability with experience of concluding on technical accounting matters
  • Positive ethical and professional values
