Company overview:

My client is a multi-national Media Conglomerate, listed on the NASDAQ in the US. With recognisable brands in it's portfolio, the business is still growing with new strategic partnerships in Europe. Based in central London, they have modern offices to suit the modern working environment.

Role:

The UK&I Financial Controller will be supporting the EMEA Financial Controller, in leading the finance function for the UK&I region. The role will involve overseeing the accounting systems, processes and procedures to ensure an efficient operation of the finance function across the UK&I.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 8 finance individuals in the day-to-day and month end processes for the UK&I region.
  • Provide controllership over the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Prepayments & Accrual functions.
  • Business partnering with the operations, group finance & EMEA finance stakeholders.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analysis.
  • Lead the year-end financial close for the UK&I region, including preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Provide support on business change and business transactions, including the assessment of controllership impact on strategic decisions.

Profile:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA with 6-10 years of PQE.
  • Prior experience of international consolidation (ideally US GAAP).
  • Extensive experience in managing teams in an international environment.
  • Strong ability to lead international and global projects and implement the change agenda.
  • Strong excel skills and prior experience with ERP & consolidation systems.
  • Experience working within a Media environment is essential! Candidates not from a Media background will not be considered.

Offer:

  • An initial 6 month contract, with the potential for on-going work.
  • A competitive day rate dependent on the level of experience.
