Financial Crime Advisory - Investment Banking

London, England.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to the team as part of the 2LOD opinion issuance process;
  • Write opinions on higher risk credit requests, transactions, payments and clients;
  • Provide guidance in relation to AML and Sanctions risks within corporate and investment banking environment;
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and implementation of group and local policies & procedures within the Financial Crime team;
  • Act as the escalation point for the UK businesses with regards to financial crime matters, including how to interpret bank's policies (provide subject matter expert advise and guidance to the 1LOD);
  • Act as final escalation point/2LOD reviewer for payments filtering and customer screening alerts;
  • Escalate identified high risk activity to the appropriate stakeholders;
  • Complete annual AML risk assessment and lead on any actions stemming from the assessment;
  • Assist in the horizon scanning processes, perform gap analysis of new/upcoming regulations, enforcement actions etc. Lead on some work streams related to the implementation of new/updated regulations etc.
  • Assist/lead other AML/Sanctions related projects;
  • Assist in the development and delivery of local training initiatives;
  • Assist/lead in preparation/response to internal and external reviews, including participating in interviews with auditors;
  • Assist in the implementation of post-audit actions, including translating lessons learned into procedures, process notes, communication to relevant stakeholders etc.
  • Assist in compiling Management Information to senior management and committees;
  • Participate in and present at committees including the Financial Crime Committee.
