Job description

Investigo are recruiting for a Group Financial Controller for an exciting 10-month FTC, for a multinational FTSE 250 business based in Central London. The role is paying from £75,000 - £90,000 pro rata, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Full accountability for the group accounting and statutory financial reporting
  • Management of the month end close process for the global Group ensuring that all monthly processes are completed within the Group's timetable and that the accounting ledgers are accurately maintained
  • Management of the six-monthly Group consolidation process including delivery of six-monthly statutory consolidated accounts prepared under IFRS
  • Management of the annual and interim accounts process for the company, including management of the external audit function and delivery of accounts to the timetable
  • Direct responsibility for the accounting and statutory financial reporting for one other UK entity in the group prepared under UK GAAP (FRS102)
  • Responsibility for two direct reports, with overall management of a medium sized team, will have oversight management of regional finance teams responsible for the accounting and statutory financial reporting of the UK entities
  • Expected to contribute to ensuring the Group statutory reporting meets all current accounting standards/reporting frameworks through keeping technical knowledge up to date and liaison with the auditor
  • Work closely with Group tax, treasury and pension to help ensure departments are working together consistently and efficiently
  • Ensuring a robust control framework is in place to support the integrity of the data produced by the Financial Accounting Team

Role requirements

  • Qualified CA, ACA, with 5 years PQE
  • Experience with group consolidations and preparing annual and interim financial statements in a listed company is essential
  • Experience of financial reporting/accounting of investment companies with an understanding of fair value accounting (discounted cash flow methodology) is desirable
  • A good and up-to-date technical knowledge of IFRS is important
  • Proven technical and business partner skills with the ability to remain effective under pressure
  • Strong leader with experience ensuring team delivery when working to tight deadlines
