Head of Application Development - Reigate

I'm currently hiring for a very exciting opportunity for a Head of Application Development to provide direction and leadership to influence the future direction of the software development stack and lead a global team of highly skilled developers.

This role offers challenges across a wide variety of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the software development, systems integration and inspiring both business stakeholders and developers to go beyond expectation.

You will be joining a large team with diverse skills and experience, the job requires a motivated individual who is experienced in taking responsibility, who can independently deliver results on both a generic product level as well as client specific projects.

• Experience leading application development in Financial Services Sector, preferably within the Pensions market
• Ideally, the successful individual will have proven technical expertise gained via working in an appropriate role within regulated financial services and especially experience from the pensions industry with a particular focus on DC Pension Schemes and be able to interpret Scheme Rules and Practices, HMRC Rules and Regulations and Pensions and related employer legislation will be beneficial for the successful candidate
• Proven track record of managing multi-location development teams with a focus on knowledge management and transfer as well as running continuous development across time zones
• Excellent people management skills and the ability to lead, coach, mentor and influence others
• Proven experience in leading and managing the delivery of system/software development projects in a structured environment
• In-depth knowledge of a variety of software development approaches and methodologies including Agile and Waterfall, with a preference for Agile
• Experience in both architecture and implementation-level software design
