Head of EPMO - Director - Payments / Critical Infrastructure

Permanent Position - London / Remote

£100,000 - £120,000 + Package (flexibility dependant on experience)

Our leading payments client are undertaking a significant transformation which could have a significant effect on the payments industry. The programme is presently being delivered by a 3rd party however the business is putting in place senior heads to work alongside the 3rd party to ensure control across delivery.

As such they are looking for an experienced Director / Head of Level PMO to work alongside the Payments SME Programme Director to help shape delivery. This role is much more than a PMO, it covers; delivery, strategy, management, budget control, vendor management & C-Suite level stakeholder management.

The role will be fully remote initially & a 5 day working week in the office will NOT be required post July. Flexibility on this is available with circumstances taken into account.

A payments background is not required & those coming from either a wider FS background or those working within Critical Infrastructure controlling significant change / budgets are encouraged to apply.

The role will involve:

  • Management a 3rd party consultancy, utilising their significant payments expertise however ensuring it is the business rather than the consultancy running the programme.
  • Acting as a second in command on the programme alongside the overall business Programme Director helping shape delivery, time-lines, budgets & strategy
  • C-Suite stakeholder management & occasional face off to the regulator
  • Budget planning
  • Resource management & planning
  • Detailed programme reporting presentable to the board
  • Building a fit for purpose team to help drive the programme
  • Being hands on with the enthusiasm & drive to push delivery.

The following experience will be required to be considered:

  • Working on programmes of significant scale ideally multi-year with budgets in excess of £100m
  • Experience in 1 of the following industries:
    • Payments
    • FinTech
    • Banking
    • Insurance
    • Critical Infrastructure
    • Government
    • Forces
    • Retail - E-Commerce
  • Management of board level stakeholders & have the ability to present programme reports / updates through presentations & details documentation
  • Delivery experience as well as PMO, ideally someone that has worked within both a Head of PMO / EPMO as well as a Programme / Portfolio Director role previously.

This role will give the candidate significant exposure to the heart of the industry as well as to the board within the organisation. It's a position of seniority & is essential to the successful completion of the programme.
