Job description

HR Project Manager / Project Support / PMO

Pharmaceutical client (open to sector background)

Inside R35 - Up to £486pd

Until end of January '23 initially (potential for temp to perm conversion if of interest to contractor)

ASAP / Early Feb start (no later than mid-Feb, the sooner the better)

Remotely based (however candidates must be prepared to attend occasional team meetings if required so best to be within reasonable distance of Surrey)

Key Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for providing project management support for a variety HR projects across HR Operations and broader HR teams
  • Accountable for ensuring governance of HR projects is implemented effectively, including reporting standards for steering committee, executive and board meetings
  • Accountable for communications relating to HR Projects - collaborating with members of the HR function through the use of common HR communication plans and activities

Key Deliverables:

Project Management

  • Develop selection criteria to determine which projects receive PMO support from the central team
  • Design of a project dashboard to share with appropriate stakeholders, reporting on project delivery against agreed benefits
  • Design business readiness & acceptance criteria
  • Provide expertise and planning support to global HR teams for key strategic initiatives/projects
  • Act as the quality control and advisory point for projects that are being conducted and staffed with central resources and offer support on an ongoing basis including agreeing scope, evaluating progress / quality and managing issue resolution
  • Effectively identify and mitigate project risks to ensure they remain on track to achieve desired aims
  • Ensure projects are managed effectively, on time, budget and with effective change management and communications
  • Oversee the delivery of key People Team cyclical activity, focused on providing a value added 'central' service to the business, ensuring successful delivery and completion against agree objectives, service standards and timescales

Ways of Working:

  • Develop strong working relationships with HRBPs, CoEs and wider HR Operations teams to identify potential projects and agree on the level of support needed from the central team
  • Provide group wide HR project management capability to support BRPS and CoEs in delivering value and benefits from large scale projects across HR
  • Collaborate with HRBPs and business leaders to drive forward project management capabilities and use of best practice methods
  • Champion the effective use of statistical methods through leadership, training and consultation to drive service excellence and customer orientation, exceeding expectations of customers
  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement specialists to identify opportunities to improve the service provided by HR

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a Shared Service Centre environment
  • Significant experience with demonstrated results in the development and implementation of a range of continuous improvement projects, including both technology and process
  • Extensive HR process and transaction experience
  • Knowledge of HR metrics and their applicability
  • Experience with HRIS applications and complementary HR software solutions
