HRIS Manager

1 Purpose

The role supports our enterprise-wide digital strategy and has specific responsibility for leading the Workday support function and implementing our HR Digital Strategy. Workday, our main HRIS, was implemented in 2018 and is used by our 1100 employees across our three main sites Reigate, London and Belfast.

Managing a small team, the role will lead on scoping, developing and implementing our digital HR roadmap on Workday ensuring we receive a maximum return on our investment. Our focus is on an enhanced employee experience, greater manager and employee self-service and greater system integration and automation to increase efficiency and user adoption.

Using Agile and strong project management skills, together with your Workday technical knowledge, you will role model and encourage Workday adoption across HR and the wider Business.

There is a strong focus on service delivery and the evolution of lean, efficient business processes and insight via analytics, so the ability to leverage Workday data to provide meaningful business insights is essential. Experience within an HR function or commercial awareness will be beneficial to this role.

2 Job Role Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement our HRIS roadmap for HR systems development and business process simplification. Project manage the implementation (to enable delivery of greater employee and manger self-service);
  • Deliver and improve standardised, real-time dashboards displaying key metrics to provide HR & business insight. Ensure HR and the business have the skills to understand and apply the data to draw actionable conclusions.
  • Deliver the ongoing support and maintenance of Workday across all functional areas, including managing system upgrades, system configuration, liaising with Workday and third party (AMS) providers and maintaining security protocols and data integrity;
  • Work collaboratively with HR function leads (process owners) to maximise effectiveness of systems integration between Workday and other business systems, identifying opportunities for automation of business processes, cost reduction, improved HR service delivery and optimising self-service.
  • Research and investigate Workday and industry best practice with application. Project manage and implement new developments with full UAT testing.
  • Develop governance and controls to enable HR's Senior Leadership team to assess return on investment in systems development and performance (tracking benefit realisation).
  • Provide counsel to the HR team and end users as the HRIS subject matter expert; create and deliver training and development materials where required;
  • Lead, support and develop team members;
  • Review the current operating model for the team and develop a workforce plan that builds capability and resilience for the future.
  • Deliver against Workday budgets and identify added value;

3 Examples of Key Activities

Some kay activities include:

  • Weekly change board meetings and quarterly leadership updates
  • Monthly DMS / Purge schedules
  • Identifying areas for optimisation and implementing technical change
  • Analysing support call trends, RCA and developing preventative action
  • Managing bi-annual release management and interim (internal) releases
  • Keeping abreast of the HRIS market & future trends

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviours

Qualifications

Essential for the role

Desirable

  • Graduate or equivalent

  • Workday experience - at least 3 years of Workday configuration across multiple modules

  • HR qualification (Business Studies / CIPD) helpful but not essential

Workday Pro Certification (HCM, Absence, Security)

Skills and Knowledge

  • Advanced expertise in analytics and translating data into meaningful business insights
  • Management/Coaching/Developing a high performing team
  • Understanding of GDPR governance
  • FS background would be helpful but not essential

Experience

  • Experience in supporting and delivering HR Technology solutions
  • Experienced across multiple Workday modules and ability to manage internal change
  • Previous experience in implementing developing a digital roadmap
