Job description

Investigo have an exciting Infrastructure and Security Manager opportunity, working for a FTSE250 business. This leadership role contributes by delivering a transformation of legacy infrastructure to a modern, high availability cloud first infrastructure whilst developing and delivering an Information Security strategy. This job has line management responsibility, is part of the IT leadership group and reports directly to the Global Head of IT.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to define a new technology infrastructure that transforms the current legacy environment, utilising a cloud first approach, including vendor selection
  • Accountable for desktop computer strategy, standards and solutions.
  • Accountable for the provisions of environments to meet the needs of projects and operational requirements (ie. test environments).
  • Development of the Infrastructure team to ensure we have the appropriate skill sets to manage both legacy and future technology infrastructure environments concurrently.
  • Development and implementation of infrastructure management best practice, policies, procedures and controls across the global estate.
  • Accountable for the successful operation of the networking infrastructure, working with a network expert or key vendors.
  • Delivery of all company infrastructure and information security projects, major and minor projects.
  • Creating business cases for the migration to cloud technologies and articulating these clearly to key stakeholders.
  • Accountability for the management and administration for the database environments working closely with the DBA team.
  • Accountable for the creation and delivery of our Information Security Programme working closely with our Information Security Manager. Ensure they have a security function suitable for a FTSE250 business.
  • Manage and prepare Infrastructure department budgets and any future change programme (ie upgrades etc)
  • Defining and managing service levels appropriate to the management of the global infrastructure.
  • Working alongside IT management and DR manager to ensure we have sensible, cost effective DR plans that will be regularly tested.
  • Accountable for leading and coordinating the team response when resolving P1 critical failures where infrastructure issues are the potential cause.
  • Accountable for the implementation of monitoring solutions to alert for critical infrastructure failures. Extending monitoring to identify trends and problems and the subsequent plans to improve.
  • Team management (team of 24) ; Infrastructure team, Technical projects team, SQL DBA team and Information Security Manager.
