Project Manager / Infrastructure / Application development / Insurance / London

Our client a Global Insurer has a requirement for an Infrastructure Project Manager to join their South East London based team.

Key Requirements:

  • Responsible for both IT infrastructure and/or Application development/support experience.
  • Manage the implementation of infrastructure for application roll out/expansion.
  • New office installs or moves, VDI and citrix roll outs. Creation of MI and project reporting cadence.
  • Play integral part in project briefing, planning, scheduling, budgets and resourcing on nominated projects. Develop and implement plans to delivery strategy, with particular focus on process change and systems delivery.
  • Develop and gain agreement to the project scope plans and budgets, ensuring inter-dependencies with other programmes and projects are managed throughout the whole lifecycle.
  • Act as key relationship contact for client business partners; representing their business objectives within the change agenda.
  • Maintain regular contact with key internal stakeholders and external supplier to monitor progress, and control and address any issues or risks to programme delivery.
  • Coordinate and manage supplier change delivery to ensure the project meets business goals.
  • Continuous identification and delivery of opportunities to leverage existing/emerging technologies to improve unit performance. Prepare and/or validate project/programme business cases; challenging costs, benefits and business rationale as appropriate.
  • Act as thought leader for business transformation.
  • Desired experience: Datacentre build out projects; Infrastructure and/or Application migration; DR and BCP planning and implementation; Large Scale IT infrastructure rollouts of systems or technologies across multiple sites/locations/countries;
  • Significant experience of delivering and managing major change and IT projects;
  • Strong integration experience with large change programmes; Ability to manage risks, issues, dependencies and budgets;
  • Preferable formal project management qualifications an advantage; Proven experience of third party relationship management.
  • Expert knowledge of programme management methodologies; Extensive industry knowledge & experience in UK, European and local markets.
  • The following disciplines should be present in prospective candidates: In-depth business knowledge; Change management; Business reengineering; Detailed Analysis; In-depth knowledge of core systems and relevant customer technologies; Infrastructure implementations; Systems Implementations.
  • Good to have an understanding of the following technical areas: VDI, Citrix, Storage technologies, Application development and testing, Networks (Cisco), Voice (Avaya) technologies, Voice Recording (NICE), Virtual server environments, Database (SQL, Oracle) Comms room build out.
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and prior moderate experience.
