Java Developer- Fixed Income

Position:
We are seeking a Senior Developer to be part of the Fixed Income Technology team, directly supporting the Front Office.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Hands on development and design of our applications. We use a range of languages and technologies; therefore, candidate should be confident in such an environment.
• Act as key developer in major projects, especially those round ION Marketview.
• Assist with design and code reviews in CI environment.
• Improve and maintain existing codebase based on team guidelines.
• Confident in taking on projects and seeing them through to production.
• Work and collaborate with teams across business lines and regions.
• Providing 2nd level support.

Required Background:

• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Willingness to learn new programming languages and technologies.
• Ability to work well with both business managers, traders and developers.
• Excellent problem solving skills.

Required Technical Skills:

• Extensive experience of Java.
• Knowledge of low latency, threading and event driven programming.
• Extensive experience of ION Marketview API and platform.
• Knowledge of ION Auto Negotiation process and preferably experience in building custom auto negotiation engine.
• Unix shell scripting
• Databases: Oracle
• Tools: Git, SVN, Team City, Maven, Gradle, Strong DevOps skills.

Desired Experience/Skills:

• Broad spectrum knowledge of Financial IT environments
• Previous experience from a similar position within Front Office
• Fixed Income Credit & Rates Bond / Repo trading system experience
• Knowledge of AMPS, KDB, Messaging Systems (such as JMS, MQ, Tibco etc.), Caplin, Ion Trading, Fix and/or similar technologies
