Role Purpose


The role holder will be responsible for the overall file quality control within Client on-boarding, By doing 4-eye check on the file, the holder needs to make sure the KYC file is up to the standard according to UK regulatory requirement and is in line with relevant policies and procedures of the bank, esp. CIP.

Inside the CoB team, the holder shall from time to time give guidance/training to the client on-boarding analysts, maintain procedures and process flow.

The role holder shall also review the QA provided by Compliance and hold constant discussion and communication with 2LOD for improvement of the file quality.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Reviewing the completeness of client files according to UK regulatory requirement and Financial Crime Risk related policies and procedures of the bank, esp. CIP.
  • Utilising available systems to ensure red flags are identified and actioned accordingly
  • To ensure KYC reviews and other trigger events are completed in a timely manner
  • Cross training of staff
  • Maintaining processes and controls
  • Assist Compliance with the QA monitoring program



Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge of UK regulatory environment in relation to Know Your Customer;
  • Fully trained to an advanced level in Anti Money Laundering;
  • Merchant Banking background focusing on international Corporate entities essential;
  • Some knowledge of foreign jurisdictions Know Your Customer regimes, especially China, an advantage but not essential;
  • Understanding of static data requirements and some familiarity with input to typical banking applications;
  • Well organised; able to prioritise; able to communicate with colleagues at all levels; articulate; able to work without substantial supervision
