Job description
Investigo are working alongside a high growth construction and real estate company in the ever expanding build to rent market. I am looking to recruit a part qualified Accountant to support their Financial Accounting & Reporting team as well as taking on some commercial responsibilities. This role represents an exception developmental opportunity within a fantastic team that has consistently grown over the last 12-24 months meaning that opportunities to progress are frequent.
The company is operating a hybrid working model with the successful candidate being required to be in the office just two or three days a week with the opportunity to work from home the rest of the week. Their offices are based in Southwark and easily commutable from anywhere in London.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Take responsibility for central costs within the month end process in line with the reporting timetable
- Liaise with relevant individuals in the business and drive a stringent procurement
- Process, including raising and reviewing purchase orders, providing coding guidance and supporting AP team and Procurement Manager on an ad hoc basis
- Take ownership over the accuracy and completeness of accruals and prepayments
- Prepare narratives for various cost areas to allow for analysis of performance in line with budget/forecast
- Hold regular meetings with budget holders to seek initiatives and highlight any potential risk
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to accruals and prepayments.
- Maintain a strong link to the FP&A team to support management reporting and budget process
- Be a key contact for external auditors/tax advisors, responding to queries and providing supporting schedules where necessary
- Ad hoc requests to support the Financial Accounting & Reporting team
Key Commercial Relationships
Internal - budget holders & wider finance team (predominantly FP&A team)
External - investors and suppliers
Qualifications & Experience
- Part qualified ACCA or CIMA qualification
- Experience of month end close process (journal posting, balance sheet reconciliations)
- Use of accounting applications for posting journals, reporting, data validation
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient use of Excel, including pivot tables and analysis formula
- Attention to detail
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload to deliver to tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the business
