Job description

This role is working for a well known brand in Watford who are looking for a commercially driven part qualified or newly qualified management accountant who is looking for their next challenge. The role will suit someone ideally from a manufacturing/distribution/logistics company and will be knowledgeable on SAP. There will be an element of business partnering so confidence to speak to heads of departments and voice your opinion is really important, with a forward thinking and structured approach to work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Month-end closing activities for Operations and Other Sales related area
  • E.g. warranty reconciliation, inbound logistics reconciliation, transportation accruals, demurrage and redirection, warehouse accruals, own engineers' accruals and OPEX->COGS distribution, aged stock, quantity reports, call centre accruals, home delivery COGS, etc.
  • Reports and analysis for Operations such as detailed revenue report (Graded, Spares, Commission, ASC, Own Engineers, Home Delivery), various warehouse reports, transportation analysis, own engineers P&L, etc.
  • Financial leadership in Operations areas such as Revenue, COGS and OPEX as well as input and support on non-financial matters. Organise and lead monthly Operations review meetings with MD, FD and Operations Director. Advise on financial results, areas requiring attention and propose solutions where appropriate.
  • Material Ledger costing analysis and reconciliation. Actual and standard cost review and optimisation.
  • Process development. Constant review and optimisation of internal and external processes, especially inbound logistics and warranty.
  • Report development and digitalisation. Standardise and optimise internal reports. Lead digitalisation initiatives from an Operations financial reporting aspect.
  • Business partnering and project management. Support new Operations initiatives with analysis, process development, financial input and review.
  • Support external audit (annual stock take, etc.)
  • Support and collaborate with Financial Planning team during budget and forecasting cycles and other Finance functions as required.
