Job description

Investigo has been retained by a leading financial institution is seeking an MLRO to lead a small but experienced financial crime team. You will be expected to hold CF11 / SMF17 and have experience in doing so.

Culturally this place is a bit of a dream place for the right person (commercial, strategic but with a low-key feel).

Key responsibilities will most likely be similar to your current role as an MLRO, but:

  • As MLRO for the Group, establish an effective financial crime compliance framework, overseeing the development of financial crime compliance governance arrangements
  • Establish, maintain and monitor financial crime processes & controls in support of the business strategy, including the risk-based approach to assessment and ongoing monitoring
  • Coordinate the assessment of financial crime risks (ABC, Fraud, AML and CTF, Sanctions and Tax Evasion)

The key requirements for this role are:

  • Have held a CF11/ SMF17 regulatory designation, or acted as a formal deputy to these roles
  • A comprehensive understanding of UK AML regulations and JMLSG Guidance gained through practical implementation of the standards
  • A thorough understanding of the Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) regime and experience of filing reports with the NCA
  • You will thrive as part of a small but smart team
