IT Solutions Architect
£85,000 - £110,000 Total Package


Your Role & Key Responsibilities
The Solutions Architect is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of the target architecture the exciting new technology blueprint.
As part of this role, the Solutions Architect will be required to work across a broad stakeholder group comprising both IT and business personal to capture, interpret and use information to inform the target architecture and ensure its alignment to business requirements and the broader technology strategy and standards.
The Solutions Architect will act as the custodian of the target architecture, ensuring it is maintained in a controlled manner with appropriate considerations made for its security, quality and ability to take advantage of new technologies in the marketplace. You will holistically evaluate the architecture and apply deep technical expertise to understand the business impact of technical solutions, recommending and implementing new solutions, ways of working and technologies to meet business requirements.
This role will also be responsible for work with the applications owners in market and in regions to ensure adherence to the global template is maintained and a high standard is maintained for all solutions designed and published by this function.
Key responsibilities for this role will be focusing on are as follows:

  • A key emphasis is implementing cloud-based solutions that make a difference by ensuring the delivery of quantifiable benefits. You will provide advice and guidance to our business functional leads on the process improvements and efficiencies that can be realised through the implementation of Oracle Cloud modules.
  • To achieve this, you will need to work closely with the business stakeholders and functional leads, process SME's and functional application owners to familiarise them with the Oracle Cloud SaaS capabilities and support them in their decisions, road map and transformation journey enabled by Oracle SaaS.
  • The role will involve overseeing the entire solution architecture which invariably includes products across the SaaS, PaaS and IaaS portfolio; however, the role will have a heavy business architecture focus covering all business processes across Oracle Cloud HCM, ERP, EPM, SCM, OTM
  • Work closely and continuously with the business to focus on meeting business requirements and incorporating broader aspects such as overall product costs, data privacy & sovereignty, business continuity, information security, integration with other systems, etc.
  • Identify, define and implementing reusable assets and standards. The solution architect is also responsible for adherence to these standards and consumption of reusable assets across products and portfolios



  • Ensure relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly across Technology programs/projects and products.
  • Contribute to the development of architecture governance structures, methodologies, and compliance activities
  • Work with our technology partners to assess technology products, understand the technology partners delivery models and assist in implementing them
  • Ability to work across multiple projects with varied stakeholders. A Solution Architect sets architectural direction, builds consensus, mediates conflicts providing technical leadership and advisory services to the business. He/she anticipates needs and potential objections and helps to create an environment which solicits positive contributions from all participants
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication and organisational skills that are required to operate as a leading member of global, distributed teams that deliver quality services and solutions.
  • Cultivate lasting relationships across business, IT and vendors
  • Recognizes industry technology trends and emerging technologies, understands how they apply to and can drive their adoption into our organisation.
  • Drives an ongoing communication plan to educate stakeholders on the purpose and benefits of solution architecture
  • Guide others in resolving complex issues in solution architecture and solves complex, escalated aspects of a project
  • Monitor the progress and the quality of the project and reviews and develops due diligence to confirm the developed solution complies with architectural design

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Office of the CIO and cross functional IT teams with regards to the strategic IT vision and principles.
  • Ability to operate under pressure with competing priorities in an organised and methodical manner.
  • Ability to work with business teams to present solutions as well as designing enhancements as requested.
  • Responsible for the integrity of the end-to-end functional solution.
  • Experience working with business teams and analysing requirements.
  • Ability to design enhancements which align with the standard design approach and governance.
  • Proven experience with working within project timelines and budget restraints.


What you'll bring

  • A proven track record as a Lead Architect on major Oracle SaaS transformation programmes.
  • The role requires a strong understanding of the Oracle SaaS applications and processes across all of the SaaS pillars HCM, ERP, EPM, OTM & SCM.
  • Experience of working with large system integrators across the Oracle Cloud SaaS pillars.
  • Awareness of Oracle's PaaS strategy and portfolio and be capable of articulating the benefits of PaaS (and IaaS) as part of a SaaS deployment.
  • Candidates must have excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills in order to work collaboratively, build rapport and foster senior stakeholder relationships.
  • The following qualifications are desirable:
    • Oracle Cloud Implementation Specialisation
    • TOGAF Certification
    • Product Owner / Scrum Master
