Job description

Investigo are currently partnered with a well know property business based in the heart of the city who after a recent internal promotion are looking to hire a part qualified accountant into their wider financial accounting team.

Key purpose of role:

This is a role within the Group Financial Control team in London. The individual will join a large and successful team of finance professionals who provide financial planning and budgeting, reporting,control and general ledger oversight for the business. Working within a sub-team of 3 the position holds responsibility and ownership for delivering the month-end reporting within the
agreed timetable along with liaising with regional business partners, supply chain management and procurement to write and present financial commentary.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering the monthly financial reporting through inputting of expenses and accruals in collaboration with regional business partners. This involves journaling expenses into the accounting system in accordance to agreed deadlines.
  • Assist in analysis and review of monthly financial performance. Analytical review of cost drivers and impact on consolidated business results.
  • Responsible for day to day relationship with regional business partners, central supply chain management and other internal functions to answer queries and provide support.
  • Work together with the wider Group Financial Control team to maintain and monitor the accuracy and integrity of the management accounting information produced. Regular adhoc analysis to track performance or identify issues ahead of month end reporting cycle.
  • Work closely to develop relations with finance colleagues outside of team to understand business unit performance and drive improvements and efficiencies. Main contacts include business partners
  • Maintenance and development of standardised schedules to accurately capture the splitof direct and indirect costs including rationalised, non-rationalised and in-house.
  • Challenging finance business partners to support the drive to improve performance and deliver value for money.
  • Providing support where required including challenge of spend by internal and external reviewers including external auditors.
  • Work with the Asset management (AM) and FP&A counterpart to implement improvements
  • Develops and maintain a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Part Qualified Accountant
  • Core Accounting knowledge
  • Good excel skills - Pivot tables and V-look ups
  • Desire to grow and develop within a role/business
  • Property experience is desirable but not essential
