Payroll Accountant (Part-qualified)

I am working with an established business, who have an exciting opportunity for an experienced part-qualified Payroll Accountant to join a dynamic finance team during an exciting period of change.

• Salary: Up to £50,000 dependent on experience
• Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 from home
• Location: London

The role:

You will work closely with senior stakeholders throughout the business and play a vital part in supporting the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a sound understanding of accounting principles and reporting requirements. Expertise in payroll accounting will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Finance Manager in managing month-end payroll accounting close processes.
• Reviewing and reconciling payroll balance sheet accounts, ensuring all balances are properly documented and supported. Highlighting areas of risk and opportunities when they arise.
• Collaborating with the Payroll team to gather the necessary data to ensure accurate accounting treatment.
• Supporting internal and external audits to ensure reporting compliance.
• Driving process improvement initiatives to maintain and implement best practices.
• Preparing other management information required by the business.
• Carrying out additional tasks as necessary.

What You'll Need:

• Progress towards a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
• Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Familiarity with processing internal recharges.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative effectively.
