Principal - Life Sciences Strategy Consulting Firm - New York

An international strategy consultancy focused on solving the toughest business issues for their life sciences/bio-pharma clients are now looking for a Principal to support in the growth of the New York office. With offices in Europe and the East and West Coasts of the US, the firm has grown 30% year on year with ambitions to double in size over the next few years.

My client focuses on a number of strategic issues for their clients including brand and commercial strategy, product and portfolio strategy, launch and post launch strategy and licensing with continuous expansion into other areas given the entrepreneurial nature of the business.

The US business is the number 1 priority for growth globally and presents an unrivalled opportunity for senior leaders in a fun, dynamic environment.

The successful Candidate will be responsible for: -

  • Leading and contributing to a number of strategy focused projects: Product Development, Innovation, Commercialization, Product Launch and Go-to-Market, Portfolio development.
  • Supporting clients across a range of therapeutic areas, primarily Oncology and Rare Diseases.
  • Actively growing the New York office by growing a number of key client accounts.
  • Playing a leading role in the business and its culture, fostering collaboration across multiple clients and projects, inspiring others and guaranteeing the quality of work delivered by the team.
  • Providing a breadth and depth of expertise and experience, offering relevant and intuitive advice which inspires and guides client projects.
  • Advising C-Level executives, influencing project outcomes and opening new business channels.
  • Shaping the development of proposals and pitches, defining clear briefs and guiding detailed resource requirements and costings.
  • Supporting the growth of the business through recruitment.

Strategy Background and Skills required: -

  • Director/Principal or equivalent level in current firm.
  • Proven track record in business development and developing existing accounts.
  • Extensive experience within a reputable strategy house, Big 4 or equivalent strategy practice in the Life Sciences domain.
  • Previous experience of leading teams and project delivery.
  • Significant experience across Oncology or Rare Diseases.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills.
  • Strong leadership and management capability with a coaching mentality.
