Job description
A leading management consulting practice that focuses on sports, and diplomacy within sports is seeking a manager to join their thriving strategy practice. The individual will work very closely with government entities, professional sports teams from various entities, and blue-chip corporations. The appropriate candidate MUST have 6+ years of experience from a top-tier management consultancy, or significant management experience within US professional sports entities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as an ambassador in the area of sports diplomacy, and run a program to create partnerships & business relationships for blue-chip corporations
- Lead and manage client relationships
- Help extend new work with existing clients by proposing services and closing opportunities
- Act as the day-to-day, full-time project manager to help ensure successful problem formulation, comprehensive analysis, and problem resolution
- Work closely with senior partners to help build strong relationships with clients
- Establish client value propositions that tie key strategic, financial and operational metrics directly to near and long term business improvement
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of external management consulting experience in a client-facing strategy discipline at a top-tier consultancy or professional sports league
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Business Administration, Sports Management, or other related field; Master's degree in Business Administration from an accredited college/university is preferred
- Deep industry knowledge/experience serving professional sports, corporate sponsorship, or government diplomacy
- Experience in several of the following strategy consulting areas: growth strategy, market entry, or strategic planning
- Strong business acumen, with analytical and problem solving skills and ability to understand how business model decisions impact operating model design/execution across operations, technology and organizational design
- Comfort with ambiguity and fluid client situations and ability to travel as necessary
