Project Manager - Insurance - Client implementation / client management

Outside IR35

Contract duration: 6 months +
Flexible working :London / Working from home

Our client, a global Insurance organisation has an immediate requirement for a experience Insurance Project Manager for a 6month contract. The role will be working closely with the end client, and therefore requires a Project Manager with strong 'end client engagement' and 'client management' skills in addition to Insurance experience.

Role overview

  • Agreeing project objectives and scope
  • Agreeing the timescales, costs and resources needed
  • Drawing up a detailed plan and schedule for each stage of the project
  • Selecting and obtaining approval to allocate resources
  • Run project meetings with internal and external project teams and suppliers
  • Organising internal project governance meetings
  • Leading the project team including organisation and forward planning of the various assigned resources
  • Negotiating with contractors and suppliers for materials and services
  • Maintaining a risk and issue register to avoid project slippage
  • Ensuring that at each stage projects are progressing on time, on budget and to the right quality standards
  • Managing the overall project budget
  • Complete project debrief and lessons learned sessions
  • Provision of regular status reports on project progress to the Partners and management team
  • Influence other project manager resources to adopt common standard of project management
  • Support the Programme Director in continuously improving client project delivery processes and tools

Candidate profile

  • The successful candidate will have experience with managing client-facing Insurance software implementation and / or actuarial model delivery projects
  • You are a highly skilled self-motivated commercially minded Project Manager with significant experience working in professional services environments managing both small and large projects for high profile clients.
  • The successfully candidate should be formally trained in project management methods and be familiar with typical planning tools such as MS Project and Agile PM tools such as JIRA
  • You have excellent problem solving skills. You see the problem, understand its significance, and get to the heart of the issue quickly and thoroughly and propose creative solutions. You have a keen attention to detail.
  • You are used to working under pressure. You are proactive, show resolve and adapt to evolving situations.
  • You have a can-do attitude and don't mind rolling your sleeves up and doing what needs to be done to get the project delivered
  • You work constructively with others, share valuable resources and motivate others through a positive and supportive approach. You thrive in a team orientated, collaborative environment.
