Property Accountant

My client, a well know hospitality business are looking for a Property Accountant to join them on an interim basis. This role reports into the Manager and plays a key part of the delivery of accounting services in the business. The role is responsible for a range of activities related to property accounting across our global estate. It will involve working in a fast-paced environment which includes IFRS16 reporting, execution of period end accounting entries, supporting audit process and finance transformation, primarily the implementation of new IFRS16 software.

Responsibilities

Property Accounting

• Playing a key role in the implementation of a new global property system in 2021
• Building a strong relationship with the property teams across all markets to ensure that our system meets all markets needs, as well as reporting requirements (statutory, management and landlord)
• Process and record property transactions, including various types of rent
• Contribute to process excellence by identifying improvement opportunities to make the process leaner and more effective

Skills and experience

• Professional accounting qualification is required i.e. ACA, CIMA or similar, from an audit background
• Strong technical background with experience in large organisations applying IFRS and US GAAP is desired, with essential detailed understanding of IFRS16
• ERP training and certification is a plus (NetSuite preferred)
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience in management accounting is required
• NetSuite and multi-site retail industry experience preferred
