Job description

Investigo are urgently seeking an immediately available Reporting Accountant for a growing Business based in Luton. The Reporting Accountant is responsible for supporting the Group Financial Control Team in producing its deliverables, both internal and external. The role focuses on the extraction, manipulation and analysis of data, the production of written commentary and the interaction with stakeholders across the business to ensure that all reporting is accurate, timely and insightful.
Key Duties:

  • Support the wider Financial Control team in the annual external reporting process, including, as examples, preparation for the results announcements including the analyst presentations, production of the annual report, providing assurance over data being reported, and the preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Support in the project management of the production of "front half" of the Annual Report.
  • Act as first point of contact for auditor queries, resolving where appropriate.
  • Ensuring that standard and ad hoc reports produced by the Group Financial Control team are robustly peer reviewed.
  • Support in the preparation of the annual accounts for the companies subsidiaries.
  • Support the wider Financial Control team during the month end process, including, as examples, roll-over of files in the reporting software, preparation of the flash reports and regular update as required and communication to owners of balance sheet reconciliations regarding deadlines.
  • Identify and deliver process improvement opportunities (e.g. information content, speed, effort, automation).
  • Build constructive relationships across different teams, specifically to include operational finance, commercial finance and central finance.


Key Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA).
  • Analytical thinking - able to simplify complex data or problems, pays attention to detail and recognises when information is missing or incorrect.
  • Manage own time across variety of tasks and projects to deliver to deadlines.
  • Ability to find problems or opportunities and provide proposals for change.
  • Understanding of the external audit process, including provision of appropriate evidence, project management and the escalation/resolution of issues.
  • Communicate with both finance and non-finance contacts to achieve results.
  • Preferably some experience with reporting software e.g. IBM Cognos Disclosure Management.
