Job description

I am currently looking to speak with fully qualified accountants with 3+ years PQE experience for an excellent role at a prestigious Financial Services client. The successful candidate will join as a Senior Finance Manager and will be responsible for financial accounting and reporting in the Corporate Division in the UK. Proactive management of key stakeholder relationships will be key to the success of this role. This is a permanent opportunity, based in the City and will come with a basic salary of £70-80k, along with an excellent benefits and bonus package.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting Corporate and central functions in reporting and budgeting processes
  • Understanding and experience of a best practice financial control environment
  • Responsible for accounting transactions in the general ledger and sub ledgers, collating, recording and verifying financial data, and reporting up to Group Finance on a monthly basis
  • Balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation oversight and review
  • Oversight and support of offshore function in the production of month end close process
  • Construct and implement constant process and control improvements and document processes

Key skills and responsibilities:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA. ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Proven track record of financial accounting and control and reporting
  • Experience of working in a multi-entity Group, and entity reporting to a group function
  • Experience of payroll / IRFS2 /Share awards accounting advantageous
  • Experience of reviewing statutory financial statements and liaising with external audit
  • Ability to deal with senior stakeholders essential
  • Self-starter, able to take initiative and be prepared to take the lead in resolving issues and improving processes
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues across a wide range of levels and business areas
  • Strong system skills and ability to learn new systems and processes quickly, experience of Oracle, HFM, Essbase, Hyperion planning highly desirable.
  • Pro-active behaviour that demonstrates initiative and positive work ethic to ensure activities are delivered to the required time, budget and quality.
  • Strong process orientation, with ability to design robust control frameworks
  • Experience of standardising and streamlining disparate activities into one standard process
  • Be a lead proponent of driving a collaborative culture and approach to working across finance
  • Ability to scope and shape role while adapting to fast changing environment
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with global colleagues
