Job description

Investigo are urgently seeking a Senior Financial Accountant on a fixed term contract for a period of 6-9 months. The role is based in Hertfordshire and will suit a qualified accountant. This interim role is primarily responsible ​for providing technical guidance regarding new financial reporting standards for different audiences, including local country controllers (practical advice on how to adopt) through to Boards and Audit Committees (via the preparation of technical papers covering the impact of new Standards on the Group). This person is also responsible for the preparation of several technical papers in support of year end. There is also a need for assistance with the review of the Group's Annual Financial Statements.

Key duties:

  • Document the adoption of new or revised IFRS accounting standards
  • Establish procedures for determining expected credit losses in compliance with IFRS 9 and operationalize them within the Group Shared Service Centre
  • Prepare annual goodwill and intangible impairment reviews including the calculation of fair-value-less-cost-to-sell and value-in-use and related sensitivity analysis. Support the preparation of related accounting papers and notes to the annual report. Support audit inquiries.
  • Lead held-for-sale and discontinued operations accounting and disclosure activities including data collection, consolidation, and review. Support the preparation of related accounting papers and notes to the annual report. Support audit inquiries.
  • Assist with preparations of closing balance sheets to ensure accurate accounting for potential dispositions
  • Provide technical accounting support to the country controllers as required
  • Coordinate pension valuation and accounting process and prepare related note in the annual report
  • Assist as required with the timely review of notes in the Group's Annual Report Financial Statements
  • Participating or leading system, operational or process changes as required
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as and when required

To apply:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA)
  • Minimum of 5 years' professional experience working for multinational companies with a strong technical knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS, particularly recent adoptions including IFRS 9, and the practicalities of implementation, would be most helpful
  • Detailed knowledge of statutory reporting requirements in the context of producing financial statements
