Job description

Investigo are currently partnered with a global energy business who are looking to hire a senior financial reporting candidate for their London based finance team.

Key Accountabilities

Fund Annual Report and Financial Statements
* Support the process to prepare the Fund Annual Report and Financial Statements, ensuring SORP compliance and managing the auditor involvement as required.

Entity statutory accounting and reporting
* Support of general ledger and quarter close accounting for pension fund legal entities.
* Support the Management of supplier on boarding, invoice payments, and IFA activity monitoring.
* Liaison with GBS, COSEC and the external auditor on pension fund legal entity statutory accounts planning, production and coordination.

Control activity
* Support the planning and liaison with regard controls audits (the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Financial Control Framework, and the wider CFO controls framework)
* Assist with maintenance of the Finance and Operations issues log

Tax
* Assist with maintenance of a fund wide central log of current tax matters, liaising with other centres of excellence to obtain quarterly updates.
* Support on provision of pension fund legal entity invoice information to the VAT team in the required format when required.

Budgeting and associated reporting

Support the process to produce the One Fund budget and subsequent monitoring of actual costs and re-forecasting, and project cost tracking


Other
* Support the Head of Reporting and Accounting on ad hoc initiatives
* Support preparation of Finance related Audit Committee papers
* Strive for continuous improvement in processes and content and support ad hoc projects.
* Responsible for, or working in support of, other activities as required

Key Challenges:
* Excellent time management and organisational skills are required to meet milestone deadlines to ensure timely sign-off of any proposals ahead of Board and Committee meetings
* Ensuring accurate analysis and insightful concise reporting as required
* Maintaining strong, positive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
* Delivering high quality work to tight deadlines

Essential Education:
* The job holder will ideally be a member of the ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA (or similar body

Essential Experience and Job Requirements:
Specific demonstrable experience/ skills/ behaviours/ qualifications (vocational, Degree/Masters/Doctorate, professional) expected for the role.
* Significant accounting and finance experience
* Experience in Finance and Accounting with strong core technical accounting ability
* Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent analytical skills
* Advanced/experienced Excel user
* A dynamic self-starter, with the ability to think strategically and to work on their own initiative in order to anticipate evolving needs and to confidently challenge the status quo.
* Team player, with willingness to be flexible and adaptable in order to meet deadlines
* Ability to establish, maintain and document clear and robust processes
