Job description

Investigo are partnering with an international organisation based in West London/M25 who are looking to bolster their existing development capability and supercharge technology plans over the coming 3 years. We're looking for a skilled Senior Developer/Engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career towards either Tech Lead role or Team Lead (with some hands-on). The next 3 years have an exciting product and application technology roadmap that software engineering will be pivotal to.

This is a business who is passionate about high quality software - you'll also have the opportunity to try new ways of working and develop your own personal career through various professional and technical training & development plans.

The key focus for the year will be around cloud migration; the exit from two international on-prem centres and migrating to AWS. The software engineering team is made up of a mixture of internal and external (on, near and offshore) teams and will play leading roles ensuring a smooth transition to AWS and ensure applications are cloud ready, secure and scalable. This also ties in with a drive to remove obsolescence across the IT estate.

Examples of projects include projects around .com/ecommerce work and there is a good view of the pipeline of work here that includes, the development of API enhancements, an improved Track and Trace capability and an online spot pricing integration with the website. There is a programme taking shape around digitalisation of business-critical process and two large scale projects involving the standardisation of the Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) in the UK and Europe, along with several enhancements to their Mechanical Handling and Control Systems. Both projects require significant integration work and a strong communicator.

Additionally, the future will be focused on a cloud first/serverless approach, transitioning towards following agile delivery techniques and moving away from a monolith and building Microservices, powered by APIs and CI/CD therefore knowledge of the below would be advantageous.
