LOCATION:

Greater Boston Area

TITLE:

Sr. Scientist, AAV Analytical Development

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish methods for nucleic acid quantification for both viral quantification and residual testing across multiple programs
  • Improvements to standard testing methods to allow for high throughput or more accurate quantification
  • Responsible for testing schedule and data reporting along with maintenance of multiple analytical methods
  • Collaborate with the upstream, downstream and vector biology teams
  • Ability to function independently and cross functionally across various UCB teams (medicinal chemists, cell biologists, disease area exerts, antibody engineers, etc)

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ph.D in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or virology with 3+ years experience. MS may be sufficient based on experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing molecular based methods for nucleic acid quantification (ddPCR, qPCR, Sanger/ Next Generation Sequence, etc)
  • Experience with chromatography based analytical methods preferred
  • Previous development of AAV or viral vector products is a plus
  • Experience with biophysical characterization of viral vectors is a plus
