Technical PM

My client are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join them on an initial 6 month contract. The role will be INSIDE IR35 and can pay up to £600 per day.

• To manage end to end the upgrade of various IBM System z mainframe subsystems components including zOS, CICS, DB2, IMS and MQ. This includes but is not limited to:
• Timeline and resource planning - maintain updated deployment schedule and detailed project plans,
• Vendor preparation - Runbook development, go/no-go calls, email communications, vendor stand ups
• Stakeholder management - Inform, convince and collaborate with various business stakeholders to support rapid deployment schedules . These include technology delivery leads, product managers, partnership directors, service delivery, change management, marketing brand and distribution, strategic partner leads, service relationship owners, CIO & COO leads, strategic planning, risk and change delivery heads
• Vendor system deployment and verification testing
• Vendor application test planning, test execution and defect management
• Handover to BAU and post deployment activities
• To ensure continued collaboration between suppliers in their technical delivery to the baselined plan and execute recovery, mitigation and escalation activities to maintain baselined planned dates.
• Utilise key control documents (RAIDs, status reports, action trackers etc) to keep accurate status of the technical delivery ensuring it meets the qualifying criteria to enter the zCloud
• To organise, attend and chair critical meetings with suppliers, internal stakeholders and core team members, leading all parties to operate in a coordinated harmonious manner towards delivery
• To integrate with other workstream leads identifying and managing technical interdependencies
• Experience of zOS mainframe upgrades is preferred, especially to zCloud
• This role will report to the zCloud Programme Lead
