Investigo's Charity Quiz Raises £22,000 for Centre for Mental Health

Often described as the best night of our fundraising calendar the hotly anticipated Investigo Charity Quiz was set to be our biggest yet. Working with our annual charity partner, Centre for Mental Health, our aim was to raise money for a research project for a suicide prevention research project, as well as raise awareness around mental health and suicide.

On Thursday 19th April, Investigo hosted over 200 clients at The Fable near Holborn. Participating companies went head-to-head in a general knowledge quiz hoping to win the honour of being the 2018 champions. The evening, however doesn’t stop there as our charity auction and raffle presents our guests with an opportunity to bid for some fantastic lots from 5-star holidays to tickets for the Rolling Stars and Harry Potter ‘The Cursed Child’.

Angharad Kenward, Senior Director at Investigo said “We cannot thank those individuals and companies enough for the items donated to both our auction and raffle. We were overwhelmed with their generosity which played such a large part in raising fund for such an important cause. Thank you all!”

Centre for Mental Health will use the funds raised by Investigo this year to investigate how best to support people who are at risk of losing their lives through suicide. The vital nature of this work was poignantly illustrated by the key speaker for the evening, ex-professional footballer, Clarke Carlisle. Clarke’s frank openness about his own personal battle with mental health and his encouragement for all of us to engage with those at risk, silenced the room and earned him a standing ovation.

Sarah Hughes, Chief Executive, at Centre for Mental Health said: “We were blown away by the energy and generosity of Investigo and their clients at the Investigo Quiz. The amazing support we received contributes to our work exploring the best ways to help people at risk of losing their lives through suicide, with the ultimate aim of preventing tragic loss of life for individuals, families, friends and colleagues. It is great to see and be able to support Investigo’s commitment to raising funds and improving mental health awareness in the workplace through a programme of activities. For Centre for Mental Health, our partnership demonstrates the huge potential for positive impact when working with a wonderful corporate partner – we are extraordinarily grateful to the team at Investigo and all their clients who supported us at the quiz and we hope for similar opportunities in future."
