Job description
A well known council based in London is seeking to recruit X3 1st / 2nd Line Support Engineers to start asap for initial 3 month contracts at £200/day, 5 days fully on site in London, 36 hours per week.
It is essential that you have experience of supporting windows 11 laptops, have excellent customer facing skills and also presentation skills as you may be required to support deployment sessions. These are very high profile projects for the council so you will need to be able to work well under the spotlight.
Higlight of key tasks
- Setting up and installing laptops, ensuring inventory is tracked and old devices are retrieved
- Installing operating systems and business applications, configuring VPN (F5), OneDrive sync, mapped drives, and user shortcuts
- Ensuring systems function correctly and resolving issues during deployment
- Preparing rooms, guiding users, and managing session logistics
Providing real-time assistance and answering user queries during setup .
- Maintaining detailed records of deployment activities and issue resolution
- Handling complex technical issues beyond 1st/2nd line capabilities
- Collaborating with internal and external teams to meet project requirements, including accessibility and specialist applications
- Working closely with PMs, support officers, and other engineers
- Engaging with council leads, vendors, and service desk teams
Must be available to start immediately and be happy with 5 days on site (this is not negotiable due to the nature of the work).
